General Information & FAQ

Answers to commonly asked questions

Q How often should my gas appliance be serviced?

We recommend that your appliance is professionally serviced at least every 2 years. For marine installations, the gas industry recommendation is an annual service.

Q Who can work on my gas appliance?

All work on gas appliances should be carried out by a competent person. By law, all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe register. The Gas Safe list replaced CORGI registration in 2009.

For marine installations, make sure your engineer has the boat qualification on their Gas Safe card.

Q What type of gas can I use with my cooker?

Our cookers can be used with butane or propane. The appliance must be configured with the correct injectors for the gas type being used. Check your user manual or contact us if you need to change gas types.

Q What are flame failure devices?

All our burners are fitted with Flame Failure Safety Shut Off Devices (FFD). In the event of the flame being extinguished, the gas supply will be automatically cut off to the burner. This is an important safety feature.

Q How do I know if my gas system is safe?

Signs of a safe gas system include:

  • Crisp blue flames on burners
  • No unusual smells
  • Regular professional servicing
  • No visible damage to pipes or connections

If you notice yellow or orange flames, smell gas, or have any concerns, turn off the gas supply immediately and contact a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Q Where can I buy spare parts?

Spare parts are available through our network of distributors and marine chandlers. Visit our Where to Buy page to find your nearest stockist.

Q Can I replace parts myself?

Some parts like burner caps and grill pans can be replaced by the user. However, any work involving gas connections, valves, or pipework must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Q Are burner parts interchangeable between different models?

Unfortunately, different burner types are not interchangeable. Over the years we have used several types: EW burners (pre-1989), MV burners (1989-2003), ECO burners (2003-2011), and SC burners (2011-present). Make sure you order the correct parts for your specific model.

Q Do you supply direct to the public?

We do not supply direct to the public. Our products are available through marine chandlers, caravan dealers, and our network of distributors. Please visit our Where to Buy page to find your nearest stockist.

Q How do I contact you?

You can contact us through our Contact Us page. We're happy to answer any questions about our products or help you identify the right parts for your appliance.
